Bernard J. McLafferty

Bernard J. McLafferty received his Juris Doctor Degree from Villanova University School of Law in 1961. After a judicial clerkship and two years as an Assistant District Attorney, he commenced the full-time practice of law. His principal concentration has been in Civil Litigation (major personal injury and wrongful death), Wills and Estates (planning, administration and litigation) and Real Estate. Mr. McLafferty is rated AV (the highest rating possible as to both legal ability and ethical standards) by Martindale Hubbell, the universally recognized peer review rating agency for lawyers.
Mr. McLafferty is a founding member and past president of the Montgomery County Trial Lawyers Association, as well as a former Officer and Director of the Montgomery County Estate Planning Council. From 1980 through 200, he served as Solicitor to the Register of Wills of Montgomery County, providing legal advice to that office as to the validity of documents submitted to probate, and conducting all Will contest hearings. He served as President of both the Montgomery Bar Association (1996) and the Montgomery Bar Foundation (1997).
